Port Stephens Skin Cancer Clinic have a team of highly talented doctors committed to the early detection and treatment of skin cancers.
Having your skin checked is a quick and painless process. Checks typically take around 15 minutes during which the doctor may examine any lesions you have with a dermascope, the doctor may also image lesions during this process or request a biopsy, once your check is complete we will contact you with your results.
If required your doctor may request a follow up booking to excise a lesion, all excisions are carried out at our clinic by a qualified doctor.
Use sunscreen with at least factor protection 30+, 50+ is ideal. Re-apply regularly and after swimming. A UV index of 3 or greater requires use of sunscreen even on cloudy days. Most phones have UV index displayed on their weather app. Wear protective clothing, Rash shirts are ideal for time spent at the beach.
Remember to cover up with a hat, sunglasses, and long sleeves where possible. Try to avoid sitting in direct sunlight. Try and avoid the sun between the hours of 10am and 3pm where UV intensity is greatest.

During the natural aging process, less collagen is produced, elastin fibres wear out and the dermal layer thins. This results in wrinkling, sagging and loss of skin laxity and texture.
Plasma treatments initiate a wound healing response in the skin, stimulating fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and repair the skin. Collagen continues to generate for 4-6 weeks after treatment, resulting in lifted, younger, smoother skin.
